But seriously, if you have committed to being a part of 4-H it is time to get your child enrolled on 4hOnline. 4hOnline is the web-based registration program that allows youth to be participate in county and statewide events, including county and state fairs. Nebraska just passed in January of 2021 that all counties across the state will have enrollment on 4hOnline open until June 15th. HOWEVER, we strongly encourage you to sign up early so that you can keep up to date on upcoming events. 4hOnline can seem kind of daunting the first time you get on! When 4-H originally started, it revolved around the idea of clubs. Groups of young men and women came together to learn new skills from adults and from each other. Each club had the responsibility to educate its members, participate in community service activities, as well as work together to achieve common goals. As the years have gone on and families continually get busier, rules have been altered in order to allow youth to participate as “independent”. While this allows for more flexibility, it does not provide a well-rounded 4-H experience.
